Our Mommy and Me classes are geared to use play and imagination to help children develop listening skills and improve social interaction. The instructor is our guide to you, the parent, as you continue to bond with your child while enhancing balance and body awareness. Classes are in session for 6 weeks at a time, so it’s a great first group activity for you and your child!
This is the ideal combination class for toddlers who crave independence. “Just Me” is an introduction to Ballet, Tap, and Creative Movement basics for your tiny dancer. This class utilizes imagination, fun props, and toddler-friendly music to facilitate learning and social development. Smiles are created here!
This combination class provides an introduction to Ballet, Tap, and Creative Movement basics for your little dancer. Experience dance through exciting and active movement with colorful props and engaging music. Dancers will improve their basic motor and listening skills in an imaginative and fun classroom environment.
While our “Stepping Up” includes Tap, Ballet, and Creative Movement, our “Dance Debut” will introduce a Pre-Jazz element into the mix. Dancers will continue to grow in technique and skills while introducing style, performance, and more complex timing and patterns. Students will begin in tap shoes and will change into ballet shoes in the classroom for both classes.
Our beginner level Hip Hop classes are all about Attitude! High energy and upbeat, these classes will keep your children engaged while building skills such as balance, musicality, and performance. Pairing a Hip Hop class with the correct age technique class (ie. Move It! & Dance Debut) will do wonders for your child as they get the most rounded dance education and gain confidence while having fun!
This is an introductory class for students to learn ballet and lyrical technique. Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz techniques set to slower paced music. In Lyrical dance, dancers express how they are feeling using facial expressions and body dynamics. Dancers will take on the role of an actor and tell a story through technique and emotion.
Ballet is the backbone of dance and is necessary to building a solid dance foundation. Although very graceful, ballet is based more around strength, control, and discipline. We highly encourage all dancers to participate in ballet classes to grow into a well rounded dancer. These classes will consists of learning the five basic feet and arm positions, all performed with focus on turnout, posture and alignment. Students will learn the names, meanings, and precise technique of each movement. Dancers will place emphasis on building strength in the upper and lower extremities, as it is essential for all movements in ballet. Dancers who have gained the proper technique and strength will be invited to join a pointe class while continuing ballet technique training.
Tap dancing focuses on creating percussive rhythm and sound through syncopation and precise, rapid movement of the feet. This class is terrific for developing coordination, agility and a sense of timing and musicality. Dancers will enjoy various versions of tap from classical, rhythm, musical and funk styles.
A powerful, dynamic dance style, which improves overall coordination and flexibility, jazz dance is energetic and fun. Dancers will learn various leaps, turns, and combinations throughout the year. To continue to excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.
Hip-hop dance is a vibrant form that combines a variety of urban, commercial and freestyle movements. Dancers will learn the latest styles out of Los Angeles and New York, in this fast-paced, challenging and fun environment. In addition, dancers will learn technique as well as dance combinations set to classic and current music that is appropriate for age and maturity.
This class is a fusion of hip hop, jazz, contemporary, and lyrical techniques. We recommend dancers take other styles of dance (such as jazz or ballet) in conjunction with this class.
Acro (short for acrobatics or Acro Dance) is a class that emphasizes on the combined beauty of dance and acrobatics. Students will learn various acrobatic techniques such as cartwheels, backhand springs, aerial cartwheels, and partnering tricks. Acro favors body awareness in various positions, both on the ground and in the air. Various skills will require grace, power, contortion and control.
Contemporary dance focuses on spacial and body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, leaps, turns, efficiency of muscle usage, and safe body alignment. Contemporary is a constantly evolving genre that incorporates jazz, ballet, and modern techniques. This class is designed for dancers with dance experience who want to explore different types of movement and artistry.
Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage. Dancers will learn to use both acting and dancing while performing through the use of facial expressions and sharp, clear movements.
This class includes a proper warm-up, corrective exercises, circuit training, cardio exercise, bodyweight exercises and stretching—all components necessary for longevity in dance. This class is great for dancers looking to try out for high school or college dance teams, students looking to make improvements in their technical performance, increase endurance, and those looking for a challenging but rewarding class that will make you sweat!
Designed for dancers looking to audition for their High School Dance Team. This class will focus on the foundations of ballet and jazz techniques in order to ensure dancers are equipped for the required skills throughout the audition process.
Designed for dancers looking to enhance their hip hop skills, this class will focus on freezes, breaking, hip-hop partner tricks, improvisation, and freestyle battles.
Designed for beginner tap dancers aged 16 and above, this class emphasizes creating rhythmic sounds through syncopation and precise footwork. It is ideal for enhancing coordination, agility, timing, and musicality. Participants may explore different tap styles including classical, rhythmic, musical, and funk during the sessions.
This class is designed for novice dancers aged 11-14, emphasizing skill development, technique, and performance. Students will receive instruction in Jazz and Ballet techniques to establish a strong foundation for various dance styles. Ideal for beginners interested in auditioning for a dance team and seeking a supportive environment with peers of similar age and skill level.
